Tri-Pak's hydraulic power units (HPUs) provide the central power source for the hydraulic cylinders, motors, and variable-speed drives used throughout our packing line equipment — including bin dumpers, elevators, conveyors, washout booms, dump/unstacker/restacker systems, and even-flow gates. Each unit is built around a steel reservoir tank (sized to the application, typically 80 to 175 gallons) paired with one or more electric motor-driven hydraulic pumps, ranging from a single 10 HP pump on smaller systems up to dual 7.5 HP pumps plus a 10 HP pump on larger multi-axis lines.

Standard components include an oil level gauge, pressure gauge, relief valve, control valve bank, hydraulic hoses and plumbing, and electrical motor controls. Larger systems incorporate dedicated valve banks for each function — lifter, dump cradle, slow-speed (sandwich cushion), variable-volume speed control, fast-down, and counterbalance valves — to give independent, precise control over each cylinder or hydraulic motor. A forced-air oil cooler is standard to manage heat in continuous-duty operation, and filtration has evolved over the years from a single oil filter to a double spin-on filter system on current units.
Construction is mild steel with a painted finish, with stainless steel used on product-contact points of the equipment the HPU serves. Every hydraulic power unit is fully assembled, wired, and pressure-tested at Tri-Pak's facility before shipment, so the electrical and hydraulic control systems arrive ready to connect and run.
Tri-Pak sizes and configures each HPU to match the specific equipment package — single-pump units for standalone dumpers or conveyors, and multi-pump, high-capacity units for integrated systems running several hydraulic cylinders and drives simultaneously. This modular approach lets the same proven design scale from a simple bin dump station to a fully automated double-dump unstacker/restacker line.
